An Unexpected Night

I received a call from a good friend of mine, Chaz Cervino, founder and president of Today's Busines and Today's Athletes. Chaz mentioned he would be putting on an event with WellNy + Today's Business at tutto il giorno in Tribecca, NYC - he asked if I could roll through with the Squad! Honestly, whenever an opportunity comes through the grapevine from Chaz I'm all in, his office sent over the invite and we were excited to go.

Invitiation for the Event

Kurtis Kong, Nico and I hopped in the car Sunday morning and were NYC bound to experience this Unexpected Night. We arrive on location to a very fancy Italian restaurant in Tribecca, NYC. Excited to expereience the food, the event and mostly to see the Today's Business squad Tom, Chaz, Billy Ash and Luke! We rolled into the event and the set up was great, everyone received a Polaroid of their group when walking in and a glass of Prosecco champagne. I do not drink alcohol so I passed it along to Nico. We began mingling and meeting new people, I met the founders of Monteli frozen pizza, Jonathan Cheban 'Food God' and hung with Remy Boy Monty.

The funny thing about this unexpected night wasn't the celebrities in attendance but the fact that a majority of the others in attendance were from Italy. So several of the conversations that I had were with Italian speaking chefs, restaurant owners and foodies. With that in mind, it was somewhat difficult for the MC of the night to convey her ideas fluently in English, so prior to auctioning off two custom hand painted bottles of Prosecco, she looked at me (likely because I was one of the biggest guys in the room and Kong wanted us up front) and said: 'Can you get everyone's attention for this video?'. So she handed me the mic and I got everyone's attention, she seemed to like how I did it, because then she proceeded to tell me to continue on with the auction! Luckily for me, I've attended a couple house auctions and even won one, so I was familiar with the process. The only directive I received was to start the bidding at $20, naturally I said 'ok' and began the bidding at $500! At the end of the auction we ended up raising over $3,500 for disabled youth. We were extremely excited about the auction, certainly unexpected but well worth the trip.

The event was held to showcase the restaurant's healthy menu, light and extremely delicious pizza. Grateful to be apart of this event and if you're ever in NYC looking for a healthier vegan option of pizza check out tutto il giorno in Tribecca.
