Don't call it a comeback!
In my second game in the Arena Lacrosse League with the St Catherines Shockwave, we found ourselves down 5 goals going into half time. We would really need to rally if we wanted to stay undefeated and win this game. If you’ve ever heard anything about Peterborough, it’s likely associated with their Box Lacrosse lineage. They’ve produced MVPs, World Champions, Scoring leaders, the best Broadcasters, you name it, they’ve likely had something to do with any position in Professional Box Lacrosse. The Peterborough Timbermen were also the team to draft me last year in the Arena Lacrosse League Draft. Here’s the Thrilla Vision from my second game in the Arena Lacrosse League:
So as I mentioned going into half time down 5 goals to the Peterborough Timbermen, we certainly had our hands full. It was going to be a battle, as I looked around the locker room I was confident. Our coach Mouser, was calm cool collected and said, ‘You’re right where you want to be, we all know we’re a second half team.’ Our defensive coordinator, Roger looked at the group and said, ‘These are the moments that build character, lets go get this win’. It seemed to have worked, we came out of the second half fired up and won the game in sudden death overtime, with a coast to coast play by the captain Brooker Muir. Brooker is one of those guys who works hard every shift and when something isn’t getting done, he has no problem throwing the squad on his back to make it happen!
Our next game is Saturday February 23rd at 7:00 pm, against the Oshawa Outlaws in the Oshawa Childeren’s Arena.
